After deciding to take some time off the country, comedian Smallz real name Lungelo Gina has confirmed to be staying in South Africa and full time. He made this confirmation during an online interview with the LunnerMag team.
Smallz is a native Eswatini born comedian who after making news in the entertainment industry for almost 6 years had to watch his comedy career take a scandalous turn. As a result the comedian decided to leave the country for South Africa. Early 2021, the comedian was accused of rape and people threatened to boycott the comedian and all his associates. A number of organizations cut ties with the comedian including Standard Bank where he was one of the brand influencers .
After being silent for almost three months, the comedian through his Facebook page unveiled to have scooped a management deal from STQ media, one of South Africa’s talent management agencies. When asked to share on this deal, Smallz simple replied “I’m affiliated with STQ media 199%.” Along his comedy career, Smallz made a number of achievements including being the comedian of the year (2015/16/17) awarded by National Arts and Culture and still hold the record of being the first comedian to perform for the majesties, King Mswati III and her queen mother for more than two times in a month. He had formed a comedy company with popular comedians, Gogo SD and Slwane under the name The Merchants of Bottomless Laughter. However Smallz mentioned that this time around he ‘flies solo’ “I was signed solo” Smallz commented.
Even though he plans to stay in South Africa full time, Smallz did however mention that from time to time he will come to Eswatini for shows. In fact he mentioned that he plans to resume hosting and attending comedy shows very soon. He is after all a liswati and this will forever be his home.
