THE TRIO ON A MISSION

Deep in the game, Prince Cosmo, Young_Keith and PurpleKeys joined forces in 2021 to form what is today known as Mission Hits records.

Prince Cosmo who's real name is Ntsandvo Dlamini is the brains behind the record label and with the help of South African based Elite Inventive he successfully brought the record label into life. Mission Hits is based in Nhlangano. According to the founder, the record label is open to anyone who does not have the equipment to make music.

The label is independent and rely on its works for funds. However, being independent as it is, the stable relieves some of the striving producers out there as the founder mentioned that they occasionally lend equipment to other producers. "We do have our own studio where we work but due to some reasons we have to occasionally lend our equipment to other producers" he said.

The label has worked around successfully producing famous songs like King of Hearts, KwaNobamba and Umamekazi. Most of the produced songs are found on different media platforms and online digital stores. When we asked Prince Cosmo to mention his goals and objectives with the record label he mentioned that

• It was to build a brand that the people will trust and turn to for good music

• Join forces and build relationships within the music industry with organizations who have similar goals and objectives

• To embrace the culture of Music and utilize it to entertain and pass messages.

However running a music stable in the industry isn't as easy as it seems. Prince Cosmo outlined that they were faced with a number of challenges in the industry especially from 'prey of talents' including promoters. "Some of the challenges we face as artists in the industry include being sabotaged into performing for free, the lack of talent management agencies and the lack of funding" the founder explained.

It is never easy to run a stable like Mission Hits especially in developing countries like Eswatini. We do however hope the trio has much to achieve in the long run and we will be watching.
