Selecting one person to represent the hundreds to a thousand artists in the country is no easy task. LunnerMag chose a person who represented true and ethical Eswatini talent with his unique style strictly aligned with the values and culture of Eswatini. This artist is bringing hope to the falling Eswatini entertaiment industry.
Young Zesh is one of the persons that stands out when compared to the wide array of talents out there. The person of the year had to be Young Zesh. Single making hits such as KaKhoza and Liphasela, Young Zesh's achievements as an artists commercially and culturally are so legion that to mention them seems besides the point. Yes he has no award currently, but because of a biased system, we rule out awards as a factor to consider.
The artists grabbed many headlines in 2023, mostly circling around the kaKhoza track. The release allowed the artist to experience a spike in his fanbase, counting over 20 000 followers on his Facebook page, making it the most followed page when compared to major artists like Lyrikal Busta, Mr. Kangaroo and KRTC of Hip Hop.
Young Zesh has also become a mirror to a number of artists. He recently joined the Emaweni challenge proposed by Kelly Khumalo and it grabbed the attention of a multitude of the social media audiance. Young Zesh is one of the artists to look out for in an event with his eye catching moves on the stage.
This is the first time we choose an artist of the year. We will continue looking out for persons who stands out in the entertainment industry and selecting him/her for the title in the coming years.
